    Album Review
    Where I Wanna Be
    V*Enna
    Essential
From the November 2000 issue of CCM Magazine.

Teen pop is imbedding its catchy, yet provocative, lyrics into the minds of countless teenagers, so it’s refreshing also to see V*Enna offering a spiritual alternative with a high-energy sound.

The duo—made up of Lucy Britten and Sharnessa Shelton—follows the pattern of old and new groups alike, from ABBA to ShineMK. The opening title cut and subsequent "Make that Noize" could easily be heard in a ’70s disco club, but just as feasibly appear in a hit video on MTV.

All together, the record risks sounding too similar from start to finish. Still, the disc has obvious potential appeal to young music fans, offering lyrics that are simple, catchy and repetitive.
